“When I turned 18 I started camming. I’ve always been interested in sex and online entertainment. After I moved to L.A. I got into more camming and freelance modeling. I contacted my friend Sophia Lux and she gave my information to her agent and here I am.”
Shortcake started early. “I got a computer in my room when I was 12. It was like a spiral into the abyss of the internet. I made sure to watch everything that existed—definitely including porn. I was basically locking myself in my room to masturbate all the time.”
She feels right at home in Los Angeles. “I love the environment, I love the weather. I like the avant-garde things. This is a different, all-over-the-place area where you can go have tea and then go shoot porn and enjoy them both.”
We talked to Chanel a few days after she did her first boy/girl/girl scene. “It wasn’t like what I expected. It was for a live feed, so everything was very on the spot, nothing was rehearsed. It made me so nervous, honestly, but it was amazing. The guy was Spider, with Kenzie Reeves. She was fantastic.”
For fun she likes “writing, I like the freestyle, anything rhyming. I really like to ice skate. But most of all I like the outdoors. I like being by the coast where I can just take in all of the earth.”
She had heard that “the industry is full of like weirdos or mean people, and the talent is always out to get each other. But everyone’s super-friendly and out there to have a good time and make it happen. It’s wonderful.”
