Captain Jack: Tell me about Maitland Ward.Maitland Ward: I grew up in Long Beach, CA, an LA suburb. I had a very normal upbringing. I'm an only child, my parents are still together. I came from a good, solid background. I started acting when I was in high school. It was my 2nd audition that I got the job at Bold and the Beautiful. My 1st audition was for Saved By The Bell. I was in an acting workshop with a casting director, Christy Dooley. I liked soaps and started to get into professional acting. I was the youngest person in the workshop. She told me I should try out for the soap in the summer. I got into a contract role there and it was a really great experience. I was going to high school and doing the soap, which was the best of both worlds. I had these hunky boyfriends in their 20s and all the girls in school were jealous of me. I always loved performing.CJ: You are also big into CosPlay! How did you get into that?Maitland: I've always been a nerdy girl. When I was 3 ½ years, I was doing Star Wars in my front ward casting my dog as Chewbacca so I was always into that kind of stuff. I liked comics and Wonder Woman and all that. That was just in my past, something that I loved but I never really thought about making it something I do. I had been out of acting. I had moved to New York for a while. I went to school for screenwriting and just took a break from all of that. Then there was renewed interest when Girl Meets World, which came from Boy Meets World. The press was interested in all that. …but everything was about to change
