This spring, AVN Media Network launched AVN Stars, a new platform where members of the adult community can share content and interact with fans and never have to look over their shoulders in fear of seeing their accounts shadow banned or shut down. The platform has drawn a diverse array of clip artists, cam models and adult performers, and it’s been a thrill to watch it grow. Out of the gate, the top model is Violet Doll, who brings years of experience as an erotic artist to AVN Stars.
Doll was immediately interested in AVN Stars because of the stability of the AVN brand: “I’ve watched many adult content platforms come and go in my years online. That can leave a lot of people burned, so you learn to be cautious and critical of where you invest your brand.”
She added, “The timing was perfect, as I was ready for a new project. I’m a bit bored with clips. I did my thing and made my mark in that scene. Now I feel it’s time to move on to something else, or at least take a break. [AVN] Stars is exactly what I need right now, and I think a lot of other content producers will feel the same.”
Asked how she rose quickly in popularity, Doll says, “I feel that interaction is key to run a successful profile on AVN Stars. Your fans want to see your personality, a peek into your life. Keep it sexy and entertaining, but make it about you as a person and your brand, not just adult content. Regular updates are necessary. We all have smart phones these days. Use one with a good camera and upload content multiple times daily to keep your fans coming back and craving more.”

Where are you from?
I’m from metro Detroit, Michigan. My family is here and I never could bring myself to leave, but I do love Michigan.
What did you do first when you started your career?
I started in a strip club when I was 18, but my first online sex work job was camming back in the early 2000s. I was a cam girl before much of the world knew it was a thing.
What was the first content you created?
First, I did a lot of non-nude tease, which I enjoyed quite a bit. I’ve always had fun teasing the boys. Eventually I tried nudity and solo masturbation and I learned quickly that I hated it. Not so much the nudity, but vanilla work. I don’t even enjoy vanilla sex in my everyday life. I need an element of kink or BDSM to keep me aroused and interested.
What made you decide to try out AVN Stars?
Alex LeComte from 7Veils messaged me and my best friend and fellow domme Breton MacQueen about Stars. We were immediately interested. AVN is a company that’s been around as long as I can remember, so the stability is something that attracted us.
For readers who haven’t seen your work, how would you describe it?
I’m a dominatrix, yet it isn’t always obvious when you look at me. I’m a very colorful girl and not afraid to share aspects of my life outside of the boots and ball-busting. I’m not ashamed to show kindness or use manners, because the world population isn’t expected to submit to me. Not everyone is my humiliation sub. I don’t need to put on a show to have a dominant presence.
Domination and BDSM goes so far beyond a look or a character. In my work, there’s often a more sensual side and seduction plays a huge role in what I do. I can look delicate and glamorous and control my submissive. I can be makeup free and filthy from a day outdoors, and they’ll still worship me.
When did you first discover you were destined to dominate people?
I’ve always had a dominant personality, and I’m often viewed as a leader in both my personal and professional life. It brings up that old nature vs nurture question. The person I am today comes down to both. I had so many conflicting feelings growing up, being myself, vs being the type of girl media portrays as desirable. I guess there were clues going back to my childhood. Then in my earliest adult years, moments involving a strap-on and certain play with my exes.
The “aha” moment didn’t hit me for years into my career, when I realized sessions with submissive clients felt as natural as waking up with my morning coffee. In contrast, my experience with vanilla clients always felt forced and uncomfortable. It took a lot of self-discovery to get here and I think every experience, (good and bad) has made me the successful domme I am today.
Are there particular performers or dommes who inspired you?
There are so many people I admire in adult work, if I named a few I’d only look back and regret leaving someone out. An obvious answer as far as performers go these days would be Angela White. I don’t know her, yet I can see why so many are captivated. Seeing women passionately at work is one of my favorite things about the adult industry. If we can love what we do half as much as Angela seems to, we should consider ourselves lucky.
You tell your fans, “If you’re here to chase my clout, be polite!” How do you handle trolls?
It’s always bizarre to me when someone thinks stirring drama with others for attention is the way to go, yet it still happens among my peers. That certainly won’t attract a quality fan base. As far as trolls go, I’m guilty of poking them once in a while. If you’re busy and productivity is important to you, pretending they don’t exist is the best way to handle them. Block and ignore!
What do you like most about what you do?
Being my own boss, definitely. I’ve never handled authority well. I’ve never been a morning person either, so the flexible schedule is also a plus. Above all, I can’t pretend the income hasn’t been great. The things I’ve been able to do for my family leave me increasingly grateful for adult work. I don’t know where I’d be without it.
What are your interests outside of work?
Gardening is my favorite hobby. I hope to have more land and a large greenhouse in the future, so I can garden all year round. I enjoy being outside in general. Hiking, boating, the beach, a walk in the park. Nature is my reset button.
What else would you like your followers to know about you?
I appreciate those who realize how busy I am lately, without assuming I’m neglecting the love and support they’ve shown me through the years. You reach a certain point and it becomes impossible to respond to everyone. Thank you for your respect and understanding.
