Porn Pedallers Announce Sponsors at Launch Party

The cycling club stays on course, despite break with British Cycling

.

LONDON—It's been a rough ride for the PPCC. The spunky athletic organization got kicked out of the British Cycling Federation, the governing body of bicycling in Britain, after officials realized that PPCC stood for Porn Pedallers Cycling Club.

But the folks behind the PPCC—a group of United Kingdom adult industry performers and producers—are still on the move, undeterred by last year's break with British Cycling after a ruling imposed by the sport’s international governing association, Union Cycliste Internationale. And today the PPCC reveals the roster of sponsors who have rallied to support the team.

At its launch party held at East London cycle bar and café Look Mum No Hands!, PPCC unveils the supporters that have allowed the group to continue its mission of raising funds to support the Terrence Higgins Trust, an HIV and sexual health charity.

Returning sponsors include broadcaster Television X HD; age verification specialists VeriMe, AVYourself and Age Checked; Platinum Lace Gentlemen’s Clubs; camming platform BabeStationCams; and niche content producer Pascal’s Sub Sluts. Fresh support comes from the United Kingdom escort directory AdultWork.com, personal massager experts Doxy, London fetish party organiser Future Parties, and catch-up app Zaucey.com.

International press coverage has raised the club’s profile and seen it connect with the mainstream cycling industry, as evidenced by the PPCC's hook-up with premium cycling apparel brand Le Col, founded by ex-pro cyclist Yanto Barker. Le Col has reenvisaged the club’s eye-catching kit for the 2019 season under its custom kit range.

This year the PPCC reaffirmed its commitment to the Terrence Higgins Trust. Club founder Chris Ratcliff is outspoken in his views on the importance of protecting the health and welfare of performers within the adult industry, fighting the stigma associated with HIV, and promoting a safe-sex message to the public at large.

“The awareness-raising and fund-raising that Chris and the team are doing makes such a huge difference to people living with and affected by HIV,” says India Turner-Lees, head of community and events fundraising at Terrence Higgins Trust. “The money raised will help us deliver vital services to help us end the HIV epidemic, improve sexual health and empower people to live well with HIV. We’re delighted that the Porn Pedallers’ Cycling Club have decided to support us again and we’re wishing them the best of luck in all of their rides this year!”

The big even on the club’s fundraising calendar is a ride down the west coast of France starting in 10 days. The so-called #AtlanticStreak will see six club members, including porn star Tindra Frost, bikepack 900-plus miles from Roscoff in Brittany, France, to Santander, Northern Spain, over nine days unsupported. PPCC is also slated to ride Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100, London to Amsterdam, London to Brighton and Paris 24, with a World Aids Day event on December 1 still in planning.
