As one would expect from the Diablo game There are plenty of dungeons available to explore throughout Diablo 4. However, Diablo 4's open world adds an extra layer of mystery to the experience. It was quite a surprise when I saw a cliff on the map and I was offered the option for me to "climb down" which led me to another area in the game's map.
While there's not a vast, vast open world like Elden Ring or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild however, it was intriguing to have bigger area to explore. The earlier Diablo games featured dynamically generated map that was big however they were also limited. Although Fractured Peak was still restricted however, it did not feel like I was being confined to the map. There are horses that you can purchase, but only after completing a quest that is available later on.
