Showing up before or after that block of time to any party means sitting on the couch and smoking yourself into an anti-social stupor. She perked up a little, and smiled back. We started to make up little stories for all of the interactions on the roof, the people, and the situations. We sat like that and laughed for quite a while before she excused herself to the bathroom. “I’ll follow you down, actually. I have to go as well.”
