Prologue

Coaches was the neighborhood bar where she used to work before she got married and moved out of state. I almost said no because I was really uncomfortable around people I didn't know. Melissa spent the next hour catching up with everyone. She told them about her divorce. They seemed glad that she was getting over it and found someone new referring to me I guess. As we were getting ready to leave one couple invited us to their house for a cookout on Sunday.

"Thanks, but we already have plans to spend it with my parents," Melissa said.
