The 18-year old had led her into the family dining room with his hands covering her eyes, making sure she enjoyed the surprise. “Anything for you, Mom, especially at Christmas.” It was Christmas Eve, and the two of them were alone. Tanya’s husband, Warren, had left just a few days before on business, overseeing an important project for his company in China.
